Alpinestars just gave its Tech 7 Enduro a Gore-Tex membrane, and it now tops the 2027 Tech 7 range. Here's what's in the boot and what the company hasn't said yet.

Every rider knows the sound of a boot filling with creek water. It's a small squelch with a very long memory. Alpinestars has a new answer to it: the Tech 7 Enduro Gore-Tex, now part of the 2027 off-road boot lineup.

What's new: the Gore-Tex membrane

This is a fully waterproof, breathable version of the Tech 7 Enduro. According to the report from ADV Pulse, the Gore-Tex membrane is meant to keep out rain and creek water while letting sweat escape. It slots in as the premium weatherproof option next to the standard Tech 7 Enduro and the Tech 7 Enduro Drystar.

One detail worth noting: Alpinestars hasn't described any changes to the gaiter or sealing system compared with the Drystar version. So the headline change is the membrane itself.

The rest of the boot

Everything else follows the current Tech 7 Enduro design. Here's what the details list:

  • A dual-compound Enduro sole with a wear-limit indicator and a Kevlar layer
  • A TPU lower shell with left and right foot shaping
  • A metal shank and a dual-pivot flex system with shock-absorbing inserts
  • TPU protection at the toes, foot, heel, ankle, calf and shin
  • Extra-hard compounds at the toe box and heel, plus a rear bridge for the Achilles tendon
  • A soft microfiber gaiter and a poly-fabric lining with 3D open-cell foam
  • Polymer buckles on an aluminum frame, with slimmer aluminum buckles borrowed from the Tech 10

That wear-limit indicator is a nice touch. It's a built-in way for the sole to tell you when it's done, which beats finding out mid-trail.

Price, sizes and the Heather Gray situation

The Tech 7 Enduro Gore-Tex costs $599.95 and is available now. It comes in sizes 5 to 16, and in exactly one colorway: Heather Gray. Yes, it sounds like a sweater. Choosing your color is a short conversation.

Here's how the 2027 Tech 7 family stacks up:

  • Tech 7: $499.95
  • Tech 7 Enduro: $519.95
  • Tech 7 Enduro Drystar: $529.95
  • Tech 7 Enduro Gore-Tex: $599.95

The open question: what happens to Drystar?

Alpinestars hasn't said whether the Gore-Tex model will eventually replace the Drystar as the waterproof pick. For now, both sit in the lineup, so riders get a choice between two waterproof boots at different prices.

The takeaway for riders

If you ride adventure or enduro routes where water crossings and rain come with the territory, this adds a Gore-Tex option to a boot design Alpinestars already offers. The protection and sole details match the existing Tech 7 Enduro, so the price gap is about the membrane. Before you decide, check how the Drystar compares, since Alpinestars hasn't said what separates the two beyond that. Dry feet, one shade of gray, and a decision that now has a price tag attached.
