Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Rigs and Coffee ("we", "us") runs rigscoffee.org and is operated by Shadow Bear Media LLC, 320 SW Century Drive, Bend, OR 97702. This page explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It also covers cookies, privacy rights and our disclaimers.
What we collect
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and the page you signed up from. Our email provider, Brevo, stores your address and sends the emails. You confirm your subscription by clicking a link in a confirmation email, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Contact form. If you write to us, we collect your name, your email address and your message. We keep it so we can reply, and we get a copy by email.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used. It records things like the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and how you found the site. It does not tell us who you are.
Affiliate links. Some links on the site go through a rigscoffee.org/go address before sending you to a store. When you click one, we record that a click happened, the time and the page it came from. We do not record your name, email address or IP address with it. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Server information. Like most sites, our hosting providers receive technical details such as your IP address and browser when you load a page. We use them to run and protect the site. We also use the country of your request to decide whether to show the cookie notice.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter to people who asked for it
- To answer messages
- To understand which stories and events are useful, so we can make the site better
- To keep the site secure and working
- To earn affiliate commissions, as described in our Affiliate Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers that run these features for us: Brevo for email, Google for analytics, and our hosting and database providers. They may process data in the United States and other countries.
Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that tell visits apart. Retailers you reach through our links, such as Amazon, may set their own cookies after you leave our site. We also save your cookie choice in your browser's local storage under the name rc-consent so we do not ask again.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you press Accept in the cookie notice. Elsewhere, analytics run by default. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site works without them.
If we start showing ads, the ad partners may use cookies too. We will update this page first.
How long we keep information
Newsletter addresses stay in Brevo until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept as long as we need them to reply and for our records. Analytics data is kept by Google for the period set in our account.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and state laws such as California's, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or take back a consent you gave. To make a request, use our contact page and tell us which right you want to use. We may need to confirm it is you. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any email.
For visitors in Europe and the UK: we use your information on these grounds. Consent, for the newsletter and for analytics cookies. Our legitimate interest in running and securing the site and answering your messages. Rigs and Coffee is the controller of your information. If you think we have handled it badly, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not aimed at them. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites, including stores and event organizers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
Changes to this page
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
