Two acronyms, two corner offices, one very tidy swap. Toyo Tire Corporation of Japan has announced new top executives for its North American operations, and the changes took effect on October 1, 2026.

It's not a new tire. Nobody's bolting anything to a wheel here. But if your rig runs on Toyo or Nitto rubber, or you just like knowing who steers the companies behind your sidewalls, here's the rundown.

Keiko Brockel moves up to run the holding company

Keiko Brockel is now President and CEO of Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc., or TTHA. According to the release, she'll oversee day-to-day business operations across North America.

She's also the first woman and the first American to hold the role, which is a real milestone for the company.

Brockel joined Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. (NTU) in 2008. She had been NTU's President and CEO, and also held the titles of President and Chief Operations Officer there. Her earlier work at NTU covered sales, finance, supply chain and operations. That's a résumé that touches nearly every stop between a tire design and a tire on a truck.

Angelo Naval takes over at Nitto Tire U.S.A.

Filling Brockel's old seat at NTU is Angelo Naval, who is now President and CEO. He moves up from Vice President of Sales and Business Strategy.

Naval joined the company in 2000, which means he's put in about a quarter century of service. That math comes from the source's start date, not from any claim about his tenure. He also served as Vice President of Product and Business Strategy along the way.

What the boss of bosses had to say

Takashi Shimizu, President and CEO of Toyo Tire Corporation, congratulated both executives. He thanked them for their contributions to the growth of Nitto Tire in the American market.

The quick scorecard

  • Keiko Brockel: President and CEO, Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. (TTHA)
  • Angelo Naval: President and CEO, Nitto Tire U.S.A. Inc. (NTU)
  • Effective date: October 1, 2026

What it means for people who wheel

The release says nothing about product changes, new tires or lineup shifts, so there's no gear to go shopping for. What it does show is a company promoting from within. Both executives have been with the Nitto side of the house for years, 2008 for Brockel and 2000 for Naval.

If you're the type who reads the tire sidewall for fun, now you can add two names to the trivia pile. Leadership changes don't show up in tread depth, but somebody has to keep the whole operation rolling in a straight line.
